These are but vain attempts to express, by one who wears her heart on her sleeve. Words, much like love, can be ever elusive... ever frustrating... like trying to paint a million stories on a single canvass. If you will read, please do not ask. Just feel. Or at least try to. The meaning is, whatever you have felt to be there, or the lack thereof :)

A letter to Charming, on his fairy tale marriage

Dear Charming,

So you married her. You did. It was what you wanted all along - to find someone to settle down with; to find a princess to whom you will lavish all the romantic notions of your heart. Romance was your one defining passion; your one true strength and also your very visible weakness. You will never pass a chance to make your own fairy tale come true. And I know that every one of us wants a chance at finding true love so badly that I cannot blame you for wanting that so much to happen.

So this is futile. But it being futile is what it makes it all the more necessary for me to write about it. Yours is the page where I have lingered long enough, hoping to find an alternate ending from the saccharine yet trite fairy tale story that you wanted. I had hoped for a more defining quest for depth and truth which would have given you a greater chance at a rare and precious happiness that is so much more fulfilling and lasting.

But it is done. There have been no white witches to give you potions of enlightenment, and I heard Queen Elsa was having too much fun this winter to find the time to melt a heart deeply frozen in romantic ideas.

Maybe I am right and you'll only realize things in the twilight of your life. Or maybe, and hopefully, I am wrong and just needs to let you go and be happy in your own version of a romantic fairy tale.

Ever elusively,
The Dragon
